How to classify water-soluble fertilizers

Water soluble fertilizer refers to a fertilizer that can be completely dissolved in water and can be applied through methods such as sprinkler irrigation, drip irrigation, foliar spraying, etc. Fast absorption, high utilization rate, suitable for modern and efficient agriculture. It can be mainly divided into the following categories:

The main types of water-soluble fertilizers

1、 Classified by nutrient structure

1. Single element water-soluble fertilizer

Contains only one main nutrient element.

Water soluble nitrogen fertilizers: calcium ammonium nitrate, ammonium nitrate, urea, etc

Water soluble phosphate fertilizers: potassium dihydrogen phosphate, monoammonium phosphate, diammonium phosphate

Water soluble potassium fertilizers: potassium nitrate, potassium sulfate, potassium chloride (water-soluble type)

2. Compound type (water-soluble NPK fertilizer)

Contains two or three elements of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, with customizable proportions.

Common models:

20-20-20 (fully dissolved equilibrium type): universal from seedling stage to growth stage

15-30-15 (high phosphorus type): promotes roots and flowers

12-6-42 (high potassium type): Blossoming fruit, improving quality

18-18-18, 16-8-34, 30-10-10, etc

3. Water soluble fertilizer containing trace elements

The crop demand may be small, but it is crucial.

Calcium fertilizer: calcium nitrate, chelated calcium, sugar alcohol calcium

Magnesium fertilizer: magnesium sulfate, chelated magnesium

Iron fertilizers: EDDHA iron, EDTA iron

Zinc fertilizer: Zinc sulfate, chelated zinc

Boron fertilizer: boric acid, sugar alcohol boron

Sulfur fertilizer: sulfate water-soluble fertilizer

2、 Classified by dosage form

1. Powder water-soluble fertilizer

Completely soluble in water, commonly found in NPK compound fertilizers, phosphates, and nitrates.

2. Liquid water-soluble fertilizer

High solubility, easy to apply, commonly used in:

Drip irrigation fertilizer

Amino acid containing water-soluble fertilizer

Water soluble fertilizer containing humic acid/humic acid

Potassium humate liquid fertilizer

3. Chelated water-soluble fertilizer

Utilize chelating agents such as EDTA, EDDHA, DTPA, etc. to improve absorption rate.

Chelated iron, chelated zinc, chelated manganese, chelated copper, etc

3、 Classified by Function

1. Rooting water-soluble fertilizer

Containing high phosphorus, alginate, humic acid, amino acids, etc

→ Promote roots, resist transplanting and slow down seedlings

2. Promoting flowers and preserving fruits

Containing boron, zinc, calcium, potassium, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate

→ Increase flower yield and fruit setting rate

3. Blossoming and Sweetening Type

High potassium type (such as 0-0-50, 12-6-42), sugar alcohol calcium, etc

→ Promote fruit enlargement and improve quality

4. Rapid seedling growth type

High nitrogen type 20-10-10, 30-10-10

→ Promote leaf growth and rapid greening
